Response Function of Asymmetric Nuclear Matter
نویسندگان
چکیده
The charge longitudinal response function is examined in the framework of the random-phase approximation in an isospin-asymmetric nuclear matter where proton and neutron densities are di erent. This asymmetry changes the response through both the particle-hole interaction and the free particle-hole polarization propagator. We discuss these two e ects on the response function on the basis of our numerical results in detail. PACS numbers: 13.75.Cs, 25.30.Fj

Equation of state of asymmetric nuclear matter and collisions of neutron-rich nuclei
The ratio of pre-equilibrium neutrons to protons from collisions of neutron-rich nuclei is studied as a function of their kinetic energies. This ratio is found to be sensitive to the density dependence of the nuclear symmetry energy, but is independent of the compressibility of symmetric nuclear matter and the inmedium nucleon-nucleon cross sections. The experimental measurement of this ratio t...
متن کاملShort-range correlations in asymmetric nuclear matter
The spectral function of protons in the asymmetric nuclear matter is calculated in the self-consistent T -matrix approach. The spectral function per proton increases with increasing asymmetry. This effect and the density dependence of the spectral function partially explain the observed increase of the spectral function with the mass number of the target nuclei in electron scattering experiment...

Using mean-field and semi-classical approximation of Thomas-Fermi, within a statistical model, equation of state and critical properties of symmetric nuclear matter is studied. In this model, two body and phenomenological interaction of Myers and Swiatecki is used in phase space. By performing a functional variation of the total Helmholtz free energy of system with respect to the nucleonic di...
متن کاملChemical and mechanical instability in hot isospin - asymmetric nuclear matter
Using phenomenological equations of state, we study the chemical and mechanical instabilities in hot isospin-asymmetric nuclear matter. Both instabilities are found to depend strongly on the isospin asymmetry of the nuclear matter. For a chemically and mechanically stable asymmetric nuclear matter, a lower neutron excess is found in the liquid phase than in the gas phase. Furthermore, the neutr...
متن کاملThe Modulation Effect for Supersymmetric Dark Matter Detection with Asymmetric Velocity Dispersion
The detection of the theoretically expected dark matter is central to particle physics cosmology. Current fashionable supersymmetric models provide a natural dark matter candidate which is the lightest supersymmetric particle (LSP). Such models conmbined with fairly well understood physics like the quark substructure of the nucleon and the nuclear form factor and/or the spin response function o...
